The social security act of 1935

The depression of the early 1930s made nationwide suffer. The federal government didn't give such programs as old-age pensions, public assistance, unemployment compensation, or health insurance — except for war.

In 1933 Towmsend proposed a plan which the Federal government would provide every person over 60 a $200 monthly pension.

In 1935 Townsend sent a petition to President FranklinD. Roosevelt for supporting the Old Age Revolving Pension Plan that had been signed by over 20 million people. In response to the petition, Congress passed the Social Security Act. It established Old Age and Survivors' Insurance that provided for forced savings for wage earners so that benefits may be paid to them on retirement at 65.
It did this by offering substantial financial help the states provide unemployment benefits, old-age pensions, help to the disabled, maternity care and public health work.

The long walk home

Mrs. Thomson has 3 daughters. Her maid, Odessa is a black people. Odessa took 3 children to a park. The guard blame her because she is a black. He said that this park is for all white people. So, Mrs Thomson complained and the guard apologize to her.
I don’t know why all black people don’t catch a bus. All black people were boycott by the white people or black people boycott themselves. So, Odessa walks to Mrs. Thomson ‘s house – that’s the long walk. Her foot hurt. A daughter’s Odessa went out by catching a bus. 3 bad boys annoy her. The driver helped her. When she walked out from the bus, they follow her and annoy her. Her brother follow to help her but he was punched. A black man help them. Mrs. Thomson drive to take Odessa to work at her house but her husband didn’t want her to do that. Odessa have to walk to go to work. Later, Mrs. Thomson drives to pick up her for work. Unfortunately, Her husband know that and he felt angry. He follow his wife and black guys at the meeting. The white people follow to annoy at the meeting. Black people can do nothing.
Odessa love Mrs. Thomson so much. She scarified her own health to serve her employer without complaint.Mrs.Thomson is agood employer. She understood the feeling of Odessa.
It’s not fair for black people because they are all human being Everyone can’t choose to be. Some of white are cruel with the black. It’s not fair!!!!!

Lili is a beautiful girl. Her uncle, Leo, has worked in America for 30 years. Leo has only on son, Paul. Paul can’t speak Chinese. Leo is an expert in computer but he was promoted by his boss. So, they argued and Leo came to visit his sister in Beijing.
Lili’ mother sent her to study English with a tutor. He is a father’s Liu. Liu love her. Perhaps, Lili like him. Paul has one girlfriend, Linda but Leo doesn’t like Linda because she isn’t Chinese. When Leo and his family came to Beijing, they stay at Lili’s house. Lili always play with Paul. Lili didn’t read books at the first time , but later, She read all the time, all day and all night. On the entrance exam, She was sick. Liu could do the exam.
Later, Liu and Paul have a race in Beijing ping-pong tournament. Both of them play very well. Paul foul because he put his hand on the table. Leo and his family came back to America. Liu was succeed in the exam.

I saw many aspects of Asian culture in this movie. Chinese girls behave very well. They might not talk with the boys. Chinese don’t hug the other when they greet.
Chinese teenagers were taught to respect the older. The older are conservative. Parents can open mails of their daughter without consent.

A. Cecil, I have a question to ask you. Why did you give the Asian movie to me?
My friends didn’t get one.

From early 1942 , several million Americans landed in Britain on their way to fight at the European front. Matt is an American soldier. He met Jean because his friend like her friend, Mollie. All of them watched to cinema together. Later, Matt like Jean. They know each other more. Matt went out with her to watch cinema, saw beautiful view, so on. It seem like Jean’ s mother didn’t like him. Matt came to have dinner at Jean ‘s house. He made a cake by himself to Jean ‘s mother. He saw a picture that Jean hug a man. Matt felt very sad. He went out to drink. He is drunk and beat up with other. Ken is Jean ‘s boyfriend. He go to the war.
Matt celebrated with Jean on New year day. Later, American troops came to English. They were trained like being in the real war. Jean and Matt love each other. Later, Ken was died during the war. Matt were send to battle. Jean went to the cremation of Ken on that day. Matt thought that Jean didn’t come to meet him. But Jean came and said good-bye to him Matt promise to come back

This movie is about love and war. I didn’t cry when I watched it. May be I used to have a sad story about my love.

Again ajarn, I didn’t see aspects of American culture much. Can you recommend me?

Tuskegee airman

Hannibal Lee separate from his parents by catching a train to go to a pilot school. He met two friends, Robert and Walter. Robert is very nice man. He is a talkative.
Walter is a licensed pilot. He is quite quiet. They arrive there to train as a pilot. They are the good friends and encourage each other when feeling blue. Later, Walter drove an air force without permission. He died. Then, They can join US Army Air Crop. A lady who seem to be the important person come to visit there. She would like to sit on the air force which has Lee drove.
Lee and his friends practiced to drive and shot with German. The Air force’s enemy came and one of his friends died. Again of their enemy coming, His friends died. More importantly, Robert, his close friend, died during he drove a air force to fight with enemy. Lee was promoted to be a captain.
15 Air force delivered a massive and successful raid on Berlin. The 322nd shot down three German jet fighter. 450 Tuskegee Airman were awarded more 850 medals. 66 airmen died. The 332nd fighter group never lost a single bomber to every action.

During World War 2, People use the train as their main transportation. That period, Everybody should unite.
This movie is quite difficult to remember the actors. Everyone are black. The plot isn’t interest. It didn’t make me to watch until finished but I tried to watch until the end.
